A motor vessel went aground on Pilsey Sands and after some confusion about its position the Atlantic 85 reached it. A tow was set up and the casualty was towed off the sand bank and then, in case of leaking problems, escorted the boat to Sparkes Marina. Once safely moored and with no problems the lifeboat was stood down.
