Both shore helpers and boat crew are continually training, we meet 2 times a week for training on Wednesday evenings and Sunday mornings. Our training can be theory in the training room or practical both on the water and on land below are a few different things we do to keep our crews trained to the best.
Our crews continues to keep up to date with their competence based training this includes,
- Health and safety within the premises
- Launching and recovering RNLI equipment
- Boat handling
- Seamanship (ropework, IRPCS/Watch keeping, anchoring, veering, towing, helicopter transfers)
- Search and Rescue (SAR) operations
- Radio Communications
- Navigation equipment
- Casualty care (First Aid)
- Fitness
- and many more.
