Both shore helpers and boat crew are continually training, we meet 2 times a week for training on Wednesday evenings and Sunday mornings. Our training can be theory in the training room or practical both on the water and on land below are a few different things we do to keep our crews trained to the best.

 

 

Our crews continues to keep up to date with their competence based training this includes,

  •  Health and safety within the premises
  • Launching and recovering RNLI equipment
  • Boat handling
  • Seamanship (ropework, IRPCS/Watch keeping, anchoring, veering, towing, helicopter transfers)
  • Search and Rescue (SAR) operations
  • Radio Communications
  • Navigation equipment
  • Casualty care (First Aid)
  • Fitness
  • and many more.
