Three friends
from Sefton Park School, Stoke
Poges, Bucks, paddled 5½ miles
in kayaks and raised £812.16
for the Royal National

three 14 year old boys, Kurt
Bedford, Josh Parsons and

chosen to make the RNLI the

for the Citizenship GCSE.
Having found out more about
the work of this life saving
charity they then decided to
raise funds for Hayling Island

training exercise on Sunday 18th
February. Paul (left) was under
a blanket looking at the GPS and
giving navigation instructions
to Craig at the helm, who could
only see the instruments but not

The
lifeboat crew were saddened to
hear the news that Chris
Tarrant, who had been part of
the shore crew since 1993, died
peacefully in St Wilfred's
Hospice on Wednesday 31st
January after a long illness.

Chris joined the lifeboat crew
when he retired and was
responsible for the fuel supply
and management of the stocks for
both the lifeboats and the
tractors. |
| |
|
In
recent weeks when Chris was too
ill to visit the station he kept
an eye on the lifeboats'
activities by monitoring the
website. His dry wit and good
humour will be missed by all the
